Session 1: July 19-23 If you have enjoyed Basic Explorers and are looking for new challenges its time for Advanced Explorers. Advanced students are a part of the Basic Explorer Camp but have the option early in the week to select one or two advanced projects to work on.
A variety of advanced projects are offered each summer, which may include: Hide Tanning, Flint Napping, Advanced Fire Making (Bow Drill and Hand Drill), Ice-Man Backpack, Advanced Weaving, Advanced Hunting Tools (Bows and Arrows, Atl – Atl, Hunting Sticks), Teepee Construction, Advanced Primitive Traps, Use and preparation of wild foods, and more. Advanced campers may choose to work toward receiving an “Advanced Certificate” from Camp Earth Connection, by completing two advanced projects along with other tasks to demonstrate a minimum level of expertise in specific areas. |
