COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM

        Ages: 13 - 16

 Week 1: Training                                             
Aug. 16^th – 20th             Cost: $300

Week 2: Volunteer Work*                                
Aug. 23^rd – 27^th             Cost: Free*

* Pre-requisite: Week 1 Training and approval of CIT Director following training.

This program is only open to youth who have previously attended Earth Connection Camps or similar programs.  It is expected that participants will have learned certain skills such as basic Fire-building, Knife safety,

Knowledge of Water and Food Acquisition methods, and construction of a Debris shelter.  Youth who have attended programs other then Earth Connections may apply if they feel they have the skills listed above.

The Counselor-In-Training program gives teens an opportunity to work side by side with a mentor and sometimes in small groups with other CIT’s to both observe and practice skills being taught as well as learn about youth development and gain some leaderships training and experience. 

CIT’s will not be responsible for the supervision of youth and will not be working directly with children without staff supervision.
