BASIC EXPLORER (BA)
Basic
Explorers introduces the 5 Basic Elements of Survival: Shelter, Fire,
Water, Food and Awareness. Returning and new campers learn and practice
survival skills that include building a Debris Shelter, Purifying water,
Preparing a 5-minute fire, Identifying Wild Edibles, Demonstrating Total
Vision and Fox Walking and Knife use and safety. In addition each
session will have its own theme for the week with special activities.
Campers may choose from a series of projects each day including animal
awareness, bowl-burning, stalking and tracking, arrow-making & archery,
basket weaving, leather crafts, outdoor cooking, etc.
Cost: 215 dollars per session, 3 weeks for 600 dollars (save
$45)
Ages: 9 -14
BA1: JULY 14TH 18TH HUNTERS AND GATHERERS
Learn the skills of both the hunter and the gatherer. An effective
hunter must possess skill, awareness, courage and intuition. And the
gatherer must acquire ancient wisdom, be attentive, be intuitive and
take caution. Learn tracking and stalking techniques as well as some
primitive hunting skills. Become familiar with some common edible and
medicinal plants and herbs as well as poisonous plants to avoid.
BA2:
JULY 21ST 25TH SURVIVAL AT ITS BEST
Learn and practice skills that re-connect us to our planet earth. Learn
about fire-making techniques, water collecting, wild edibles, primitive
tools and crafts. Sharpen your senses through awareness games and
challenges. Survival at its best, is working with nature in way that is
sustainable to both humans and the elements of the Earth.
BA3: AUGUST 4TH 8TH THE ULTIMATE SCOUT
ADVENTURE
If you have spent a lot of time outdoors and in nature, and maybe you
have been to our camp before, and you feel like you got the basics down,
MAYBE you should try out our ultimate scout adventure. Just remember,
scouts are rarely seen, never heard and they are usually the ones sent
ahead to make sure it is safe to enter! Are you ready to be a SCOUT?
