learning safety and maneuvering techniques. Also learn about basic bike
maintenance and discover more about the wilderness through these daily
adventures. Create your own Camp Logs or Journals which will give you
opportunities to record your experiences and memories through sketches,
writings, and collections. You must arrange to bring your own bike to
camp and pick it up at the end of the week. (The bikes will be locked
securely during the week if you would like to leave them at camp for the
duration of the session.)
ADVANCED MOUNTAIN BIKING
July 21st – 25th
Cost: 240 dollars Ages: 10-14
This program
is for campers who have taken Basic Mountain Biking and have
demonstrated knowledge of the basic skills and an understanding and
respect for Mountain Biking Safety and Care. Only campers who have
taken Basic Mountain Biking at Earth Connections may register. If the
instructor has any concerns based on the camper’s previous performance,
he/she will contact the parents to discuss the concerns before accepting
the registration. Daily bike trips may be longer and more challenging
then our Basic camp. More time will be spent on skills, and maneuvering
techniques as well as more detailed lessons on bike maintenance and
repair. Campers will be expected to have some of their own basic repair
equipment. (A letter will be sent with more details to those registered
in June.) In addition, students will participate in activities that
promote earth awareness and conservation. Bikes must be brought to camp
and picked it up at the end of the week.
