Position Description:           Outdoor Trip Leader – Mountain Biking

 Responsibilities:

·         The MB Trip leader/educator is responsible for the leadership, supervision and safety of campers between the ages of 10 and 14.

·         The Trip leader/educator will be responsible for planning effective and appropriate MB trips and activities for their group

·         The Trip leader/educator will maintain a positive and safe teaching environment, adhering and incorporating the MB Safety Plans into the program

·         The Trip leader/educator will supervise and direct the Assistant educators as needed

·         The Trip leader/educator will assist with pre and post camp supervision as assigned

·         The Trip leader/educator will incorporate and adhere to the Camp Rules and policies at all times

·         The Trip Leader is directly responsible to the Camp Director

Qualifications:

·         Minimum age of 18 years

·         Work or volunteer experience working with youth between the ages of 5 and 16

·         Experience in a leadership role

·         Experience leading and/or as an asst. leader for Mountain Biking trips

·         Current Certification in CPR-FPR(CPR for the Professional Rescuer) and RTE (Responding to Emergencies) -“Trip Leader Status”

·         Experiential and/or educational background in one or more of these areas: child development, recreation, supervision, education, natural history/environmental education, mountain biking, and backpacking

·         Outgoing personality and ability to work with people of all ages

·         Mature judgment and the ability to safely supervise campers

·         Ability to work well as a camp staff team member

·         Energy and enthusiasm for intensive work and long days

·         Excellent leadership ability

Helpful Qualifications:

·         Knowledge of Hammond Hill bike trails and experience riding them
