Assist the Camp Director with the planning and
implementing of the Health and Safety Program of the camp. This
includes maintaining health records, camper health screening,
maintaining first aid supplies and records, and managing overall
camp health and safety aspects of the camp.
Assist the Camp Director in the planning of camp programs
for the summer
Assist the Camp Director in the development and
implementation of staff orientation week
Will assist with the supervision and support of camp staff
and campers
Will assist the Camp Director in conducting weekly staff
meetings for staff support and development
Will assume the role of Camp Director when the Camp
Director is not present
Will assist the Director in completing staff performance
reviews and a final camp evaluation at the end of the summer
The Program Director is directly responsible to the Camp
Director
Minimum age of 21 years
Experience with health and safety aspects of operating a
children’s camp
Work or volunteer experience working with youth ages 5 -
16
Experience in a supervisory role
Current Certification in CPR-FPR(CPR for the Professional
Rescuer) and RTE (Responding to Emergencies) -“Trip Leader
Status”
Experiential and/or educational background in child
development, recreation, supervision, education
Experiential and/or educational background in natural
history/environmental education or related field
Outgoing personality and ability to work with people of
all ages
Mature judgment and the ability to safely supervise
campers
Ability to work well as a camp staff team member
Energy and enthusiasm for intensive work and long days
Excellent leadership ability
